LEADERSHIP IN LEARNING COMMUNITIES

Empathy Attribute

Empathy Attribute

During my first placement at King Edward Public School, I was able to participate and help coordinate the word designs for the positive character attributes of the TDSB. As the students were learning the elements of design, the art teacher and I decided the word empathy would be designed using different lines and patterns. My work on the Character Development word art has helped me to work in a collaborative setting where I was able to show leadership in helping students succeed.

Learners With Deafness Presentation

Learners With Deafness Presentation

Since September 2011, I have had the privilege to learn American Sign Language (ASL) and would like to continue to do so in the future. While brainstorming and coming up with ideas for our group presentation we made sure we accepted every idea and choose the best way to present our information in a unique and interesting way. For this collaborative presentation I was able to share my knowledge of ASL as well as the knowledge I learned about Deaf culture and the Deaf community.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Remembrance Day Assembly

This assembly was the first thing I was assigned as I entered Oakridge Pubic School for my final placement. I was privileged to take on the responsibility of finding a suitable piece for the grade five students to present for the assembly. As I took on the responsibility of creating the wreath with the students, Ross (my placement teacher) took on a director role and was able to look at the presentation in a more technical manner and, with the students, created a powerful dramatic work.
